Dana and I are pleased to invite you to the 2008 SUPER SUMMERS Camp. As the new camp directors, our goal is to continue Super Summers in the same tradition that Sensei Campos has done for the last 25 years. Below you will find information for this year’s camp. Please contact us if you have any questions.

DATE: FRI-SUN, JULY 18-20, 2008

THREE SPECIAL GUEST INSTRUCTORS FOR 2008:
Kurt Pellegrino is an American mixed martial artist, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt and an excellent instructor. He is currently a contender competing in the UFC’s lightweight division. Kurt trains at the Armory in Jupiter, Florida with Justin Haskins, Eduardo Guedes, and Raphael Chaves. Prior to the Armory, he trained with Ricardo Almeida, a world famous Brazilian Jiu Jitsu competitor at a Renzo Gracie affiliate school. Kurt’s titles include: Ring of Combat 165lb Championship; Reality Fighting 155lb. Championship; WEC North American Lightweight Championship; Pan American Gold Medalist; and 2004 US Abu Dhabi Trials runner-up. Kurt’s record is: 15-3. Kurt will be teaching various mixed martial arts skills at super summers.

Michael J. Campos established and organized Super Summers for 25 years. He is the founder and director of the Zen Do Kai and Executive Defense Systems. He began training in 1959 and teaching in 1969. Sensei Campos has taught in the U.S., Canada, Greece, New Zealand and Peru. He has also co-taught programs with Bill Wallace and Jean Frenette. In 2000 he was a special guest instructor at Chuck Norris’ UFAF on convention. Sensei Campos will be presenting classes in combat takedowns and joint/finger locking techniques as well as a ZDK System class. We are especially honored to have him as one of our special guests at the first Super Summer Seminars of the next 25 years. See www.zdkusa.com for additional information.

Shihon Kiyoshi Nishime is a master instructor of Shima-Ha Shorin-Ryu and Yammani-Ryu. THE CAMP:
Super Summers has been successful for 25 years because we provide participants with an opportunity to cross-train in many styles with a total of 20 expert instructors including our world renowned “Special Guest” instructors.

WHY ATTEND THIS CAMP:
Established in 1983, Super Summers is one of the oldest continuous running cross-training martial arts camps in the United States. We have withstood the test of time for a reason - fantastic staff - tremendous value - a great learning environment and great people! Professor Wally Jay said that Super Summers is, “one of the best camps in the country.”

HOW MUCH IS IT:
Participants can attend the entire weekend - including 2 nights lodging at Colgate University, five meals, 40 seminars, demonstrations, and entertainment for just $210 per person in a double room. We also offer non-participant rates for family members, group discounts, and private rooms (at a slightly higher room rate).

WHO CAN ATTEND:
Any student or instructor from any style or system is welcome. We offer several seminar choices in each time slot. Our staff is chosen for their expertise and teaching ability. They are diverse in terms of style and experience. Super Summers is friendly, fun, and truly a great learning opportunity. Most of our participants come from the U.S. and Canada, but we have also had participants from as far as India, Greece, S. America, & New Zealand.
